Antique Lovatt & Lovatt Stoneware Master Ink Bottle - Notts Langley Mill
N/A
Beautiful Antique Victorian Master Ink Bottle crafted from heavy, salt-glazed stoneware. Dating back to the late 1800s or early 1900s, these industrial bottles were originally used to hold large quantities of ink to refill smaller desk wells. Today, they make stunning primitive accents, rustic bud vases, or shelf displays. It features a classic cylindrical silhouette, a distinct stepped collar, and a molded pouring spout built directly into the rim. The glaze boasts a rich, multi-toned finish transitioning from deep cocoa-brown at the top to a speckled, earthy honey-ochre along the body. Authentic Maker's Mark:This piece features the clear, authentic stamped oval mark near the bottom baseline edge that reads: LOVATT & LOVATT / NOTTS / LANGLEY MILL. This distinct backstamp confidently dates the production of this utilitarian master ink bottle precisely between 1895 and 1913, prior to the pottery becoming a limited corporation. In excellent condition.
