Rare and beautiful vintage handcrafted Mexican belt buckle with a tooled and carved leather front face - a unique construction not commonly seen in vintage buckle collecting. The leather face features a hand-carved bird motif at center surrounded by intricate floral and petal tooling and raised leather corner rosettes - all in rich warm brown leather with natural aging. The reverse is a solid nickel silver plate with standard belt hardware. Handmade in Mexico with exceptional artisan skill. Like new condition - leather face is supple with no cracking or loss.
