Antar (アンタール) is crafted by Mr. Aoki in Tachikawa City, Tokyo. Not only does he create ukuleles that are like small works of art by combining various woods, but their exceptional playability and balance also make them highly popular among many ukulele enthusiasts. The unique top wood is Boxelder Maple, a type of soft maple known for its fungal-derived coloration, appearing almost like flames.
The back and sides are made of Hollywood (Holly wood), famous as the whitest wood in the world.
The fingerboard and bridge are Tulipwood, and the neck is Maple.
It features abalone purfling, but the wood grain alone is already impactful! It looks like white marble, or like art depicting flames.
Not only does it have a stunning appearance, but its light body and radiused fingerboard also contribute to excellent playability.
It is versatile for various styles, from solo playing to accompaniment, and the intonation in the higher positions is stable, allowing for confident use.
