Description
This is a full-dress uniform (Taishōfu) for an Army Veterinary Lieutenant Colonel.
From February of Showa 12 (1937),
after the title changed from Officer Equivalent to Officer of Each Branch,
the collar and sleeves were tailored with the branch color for veterinarians, which is purple.
Prior to this change, the full-dress uniform for Officer Equivalents
had black collars and sleeves for all branches, regardless of department.
The sash and the hemline of the formal trousers were in the respective branch colors.
In May of Showa 13 (1938), the wearing of full-dress uniforms was suspended (effectively abolished).
As a result, orders for tailoring full-dress uniforms almost ceased.
Therefore, this modified full-dress uniform is extremely rare,
and especially so for veterinarians, making it even more difficult to obtain.
Regarding condition, there are some minor scratches and stains.
