Description
Thank you for looking.

This is a mask of Ebisu and Daikoku.

It is a decorative mask in the style of Iwami Kagura.

Kagura originally began with ancient people dancing to pray for good health and rejuvenation of the soul. It is said that this ritual of Chinkon Tamaburi (soul-pacifying and spirit-shaking) is the origin of various Shinto ritual performing arts.

A mold is made from clay, Japanese paper is carefully layered, coated with funori (seaweed glue) mixed with gofun (oyster shell powder), and then colored.

*Persimmon tannin is used as an insect repellent.
It has a unique smell when held in the mouth.
