Prophet 600 Mechanical Keypad #2
This is prototype #2 for replacing the Prophet 600's membrane keypad with a mechanical key.

Membrane keypads can become unresponsive due to age-related degradation, and even replacements will eventually fail.
Therefore, we created a mechanical key with small tactile switches implemented.
By replacing the original keypad with this, you will be freed from switch malfunctions.

The membrane keypad is attached to the panel with double-sided tape. To remove it, disconnect the flat cable from the connector inside the panel, remove the rotary switch knob, and then use a spatula or pick to peel off the pad.
Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the panel.
Align the holes of the mechanical key with the shaft hole of the rotary switch, align the LED holes of the panel with the holes of the mechanical key, pass the flat cable through the slit to the back of the panel, and insert it into the connector.
For #2, the width of the flat cable is smaller than the connector, so please align it with the connector terminals.

Finally, cut off the connector part of the removed membrane keypad and attach it to the top surface of the replaced mechanical key to complete the installation.

Note: The membrane keypad is less than 1mm thick, but replacing it with the mechanical key will add approximately 3mm in thickness. However, this does not cause operational issues and actually improves the tactile feel when pressing the switches.
