Shuun - Koyasu Jizo Bosatsu (Comforting Jizo Bodhisattva) - Takaoka Cast Buddha and Substitute Jizo (Exorcism Charm)

35.51 $
Description
This was displayed in my father's tokonoma (alcove). He loves Buddhist statues and Jizo statues.

This is a set of a Kōyasu Jizō Bosatsu (Jizō Bodhisattva for easy childbirth) seated statue with a base, and a Migawari Jizō (substitute Jizō) as a charm for warding off evil.

? Kōyasu Jizō Bosatsu (with base)
Metal (approx. 550g)
It is heavy, likely made of copper or brass, possibly gold-plated.

[Size]
Height: Statue only approx. 15.5cm
With base: approx. 18cm
There is a Shuun inscription on the back decoration.

Shuun
These cast Buddhist statues are made in Takaoka, a town renowned as the leading production center for Buddhist implements in Japan. The original models are created by Shuun Makita, a Busshi (Buddhist sculptor) who is a master of Buddhist statue creation. Highly accurate molds are then produced from these original models.

The die-casting method, where metal is poured into the mold under high pressure and then solidified, is characterized by its high precision compared to other casting methods, resulting in a smooth and beautiful surface finish.

Afterward, each piece is colored by skilled artisans to complete it.

It is believed to bring various benefits, including: good health, abundant harvests, traffic safety, prayers for unborn children, safe childbirth, blessings for conception, protection of children, prayers for ancestors, and prayers for victory in battle.

? Migawari Jizō (with base)
Stone statue, made of white granite.
Charm for good health and warding off evil by acting as a substitute. A lucky charm.

[Size]
Height: Statue only approx. 6.5cm
With base: approx. 8cm
Comes with a red cord.

This is a cute, palm-sized figurine. With the attached cord, it can be hung on a wall or other surface for display or prayer.

Both are lucky charms that seem to have a calming effect and bring peace of mind.

Please examine the photos and purchase only if you understand that these are pre-owned items kept in a home environment.
