Vintage Portmeirion Botanic Garden Spring Gentian Bread Plate 7.25" Rare Variant

Portmeirion Botanic Garden 7.25 bread & butter plate in the Gentiana Verna (Spring Gentian) pattern, presented in excellent collector condition with no crazing, staining, or rim roughness. The glaze is clean and bright, and the transfer is crisp with strong, vibrant color throughout, making this a particularly well-preserved example. Marked on the reverse with the Botanic Garden crest including Circa 1818, Portmeirion, Made in England, and the 1972 date mark referencing the original introduction of the pattern designed by Susan Williams-Ellis. Spring Gentian is a less commonly encountered motif within the Botanic Garden line and appears less frequently on the 7.25 bread & butter plate form. Examples in this clean, well-preserved condition are increasingly difficult to find, especially compared to those showing typical age-related crazing or staining. A beautiful and desirable addition for collectors seeking a harder-to-find floral motif in exceptional condition. Displays wonderfully and would also make a thoughtful gift for a Portmeirion collector. Please review all photos carefully and feel free to reach out with any questions.
