LE Smith MCM Amberina Swung Vase Footed Ribbed UV Cadmium Glow 21.5"
Le Smith
A dramatic mid-century swung vase by L.E. Smith Glass of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, produced in the 1960s–70s in a rich amberina colorway — a deep crimson-red body that transitions to glowing amber-yellow at the base. The ribbed body rises from a scalloped footed base to a gracefully crimped and swung mouth, no two examples of which are exactly alike due to the hand-swung production technique. The amber base and rim contain cadmium, producing a vivid orange glow under UV black light. At 21.5 tall, this is a large and visually commanding example of classic American MCM art glass. Be sure to check the black light photo! CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks, or damage noted.
