Handcrafted 9-Key Gourd Kalimba - Folk Art Thumb Piano Mbira

Handcrafted 9-Key Gourd Kalimba - Folk Art Thumb Piano Mbira Beautiful, handcrafted 9-key gourd kalimba (thumb piano). This unique folk instrument features an authentic, natural dried canteen gourd resonator body paired with a solid wood faceplate. The front face is decorated with rustic, hand-burned geometric and starburst pyrography artwork. Key Features: * **9 Metal Tines:** Features a traditional 9-key layout that produces a warm, crisp acoustic tone. * **Acoustic Sound Ports:** Built with a distinct three-hole pattern near the base. This allows the player to manually cup the ports to create a beautiful wah-wah vibrato/modulation effect. * **Adjustable Tension Bridge:** The keys are held securely by a cylindrical aluminum tension bar and standard slot-head screws, making it completely manual-tunable if you wish to adjust the pitches. **Condition Notes:** The instrument is in great functional shape. The wood face and natural gourd body show a smooth, glossy protective finish with minor organic mottling inherent to natural gourds. The metal tines exhibit a light, honest surface vintage patina/oxidation that does not impact playability or sound quality. No cracks or structural damage. Perfect for entry-level players, world music collectors, or as a distinct piece of rustic global home decor! Shipped securely with plenty of bubble wrap protective packaging.
